Oracle Apps R12 (12.1.3) has significant changes compared to earlier versions let’s say 11.5.10 both in terms of functional and technical changes.
In this article, I am going to cover minimum database object level changes done by Oracle in the upgrade like object obsolete, package level changes, API changes. This changes will actually cover 80% of the changes for Order Management, Distribution type of Oracle Apps Implementation.
PO_VENDORS –> AP_SUPPLIERS
po_vendors table is replaced with table ap_suppliers in R12. po_vendors is also present in R12 but as a view in apps schema on ap_suppliers table. There is no need to do any changes if proper synonym is present pointing to po_vendors view.
Many times developers use this table with schema owner po.po_vendors, as there is no table now in po schema, you need to replace it with either ap_suppliers or po_vendors(remove po. schema name)
PO_VENDOR_SITES_ALL –> AP_SUPPLIER_SITES_ALL
Same case with po_vendor_sites_all. It is replaced by ap_supplier_sites_all or po_vendor_sites_all view in apps schema.
GL_SETS_OF_BOOKS –> GL_LEDGERS
gl_sets_of_books table is replaced with gl_ledgers table or gl_sets_of_books view in apps schema.
RA_CUSTOMERS –> HZ_CUST_ACCOUNTS, HZ_PARTIES
ra_customers view which was based on hz_cust_accounts and hz_parties is obsolete in R12. Replace it with base tables. Below is the probable replacement of from and where clause. You can see old definition of view and select only those columns which are needed from respective tables in the select clause.
from hz_cust_account hca, hz_parties hp where hca.cust_account_id = hp.cust_account_id
MTL_ITEM_TEMPLATES –> apps.MTL_ITEM_STATUS_vl
mtl_item_templates is replaced wiht mtl_item_status_vl view in apps schema.
