In this article, I am going to show how to evaluate WordPress using Bitnami WordPress Stack.

Demo in Browser
This option allows you to quickly launch your application in the internet browser. You do not need any domain or web hosting except Internet connection. It uses Amazon AWS service to launch the demo. No worry.. you do not need to pay anything. It is valid for an hour only, after that app shuts down.
Launch in The Cloud
You can any cloud service provider like Amazon AWS, Google, Oracle or Microsoft Azure. This may cost you money as you use Cloud Service.

You can download the complete installer and install it on your local desktop. This includes Apache Server and everything you need to run the respective application. No additional software installation is required.
Create an account and Sign-in
You need to create an account to evaluate any CMS using the options mentioned above. Just click on the official page to create your account.
You have the option to create the account by entering email and password or use Google, Facebook or Yahoo authentication to log to Bitnami Account. Let’s use Google and sign it.
Click Sign in with Google. It asks your Google username and password. Enter it and approve access and proceed with Authentication.
Open Application Stack and Select WordPress
Open BITNAMI application stack and search for WordPress. Click on WordPress Icon and you will land on this page. Click on DEMO IN BROWSER button.
Below are the restrictions on the service.
Bitnami Launchpad is a free service to launch test servers for open source apps. You can launch up to 10 servers, and each of them will be available for one hour. Note that because this is a demo server, you will not have full system access via SSH
It starts building your application. Just wait for some time and it will be ready. Username and password will be given to you in the same window. Click on Go to Application button.
When you click on Go to Application, you navigate to the WordPress app. This will be valid for an hour only so just start and play with your app to see if it suits you.
This is how it looks.
Let’s log in to Admin dashboard. In browser URL, you will see some IP address like http://54.165.211.XXX. It can be anything. Just append wp-admin after that to open login page. http://54.165.211.xxx/wp-admin
Enter the username and password given on the first page and you are in WordPress Admin Dashboard.
Create some post and understand how it works. You can install theme, plugin. This will help you definitely to evaluate any software.
If you think an hour is less, I would suggest you either user XAMPP and do a local installation using Bitnami. Check the above section you will find the local installation option. Just download, install and test.
